Floating Shelf Weight Capacity Details
The higher the wall's load-bearing capacity, the more stable the shelf will be.
The load-bearing capacity of brackets mounted on cement wall is typically between 100 and 300 pounds. While on drywall, the shelf’s weight capacity is generally about 50% lower.
Below are the recommended weight capacities based on shelf length and wall type:
Length (") | Weight Capacity Cement wall | Weight Capacity Drywall |
---|---|---|
5 - 15.9" | 50 - 80 lbs | 25 - 40 lbs |
16 - 31.9" | 80 - 130 lbs | 40 - 65 lbs |
32 - 47.9" | 130 - 160 lbs | 65 - 80 lbs |
48 - 59.9" | 160 - 200 lbs | 80 - 100 lbs |
60 - 69.9" | 200 - 230 lbs | 100 - 115 lbs |
70 - 88" | 230 - 300 lbs | 115 - 150 lbs |
Note: For installation on drywall, we recommend mounting the shelf on a structural column for maximum stability. If needed, contact us at service@woodartdeal.com to adjust the pre-drilled holes to align with your structural column.
Is this shelf wobbly or unstable?
The planks come pre-drilled, with holes that perfectly match the column size. They are made from 100% solid wood, providing a strong and durable foundation for long-term load-bearing.
